Outreach
Our outreach component is effectively targeting at-risk youth by weekly, regular lunch-time visits at all middle and high schools. We also conduct one-on-one street outreach in environments frequented by youth throughout our community.
During outreach, teams comprised of staff, volunteers and youth themselves to provide significant information on a variety of issues including health, shelter, education, and employment. Staff distribute our “Teen Safety Plan”– a small wallet size brochure designed to empower youth on the streets during potentially dangerous situations.
Snack foods and basic hygiene materials may also be distributed to at-risk youth at this time. In addition to our outreach efforts, teams offers referral services, assessments, goal development, case management and advocacy.
